Essential storage and optional communication tools
CzechTrade.ge does not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, behavioural advertising networks or cross-site marketing trackers. The site does use limited first-party storage for core functions and offers two optional communication tools: Smartsupp live chat and the Elfsight WhatsApp widget.
Smartsupp and Elfsight are disabled until you choose Enable chat & WhatsApp in the privacy notice. If you choose Essential only, their external scripts are not loaded by CzechTrade.ge.
Storage and technologies used
ctg-cookie-choice
Purpose: records whether you selected Essential only or enabled the optional communication tools.
Data: a simple preference value; it does not contain your name, email or enquiry text.
Duration: remains in that browser until you change the setting or clear site data.
PHP session identifier
When used: when the contact form is submitted.
Purpose: supports short anti-abuse/rate-limit controls.
Duration: session/short-lived according to the server and browser session settings.
Live-chat visitor identifier
When used: only after you enable chat & WhatsApp.
Purpose: Smartsupp documentation states that a visitor is identified by a unique key stored in cookies so a conversation can be associated with the visitor.
Chat data: if you write to us, Smartsupp processes the conversation and information you choose to provide.
elfsight_viewed_recently
When used: only after you enable chat & WhatsApp.
Purpose: Elfsight states that this cookie prevents inflated widget views. Its privacy policy also describes processing of IP address, operating system and browser type for service operation/security.
WhatsApp: clicking through opens an independent WhatsApp/Meta service under its own privacy terms.
Your choice: Essential only or communication tools
Essential only keeps the site’s first-party preference and any short contact-form session needed for functionality, but does not load Smartsupp or Elfsight. Enable chat & WhatsApp allows the site to load both providers so their floating communication widgets can appear.
You can reopen the choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. If you switch from communication tools back to Essential only, the page reloads without those scripts. This stops future loading on CzechTrade.ge, but it does not necessarily delete provider cookies already present in your browser; those can be removed through browser site-data controls.
Smartsupp live chat
Smartsupp is used to provide live business-enquiry chat. According to Smartsupp’s official developer documentation, visitors are identified using a unique key stored in cookies. We also configure the widget to display a privacy notice linked to this website’s Privacy Policy and to use the language of the page (English or Czech).
When you start a chat, do not send sensitive identity documents, passwords, banking credentials or other special-category information unless a secure channel has been agreed separately. More information about the data handled through chat is provided in our Privacy Policy.
Elfsight WhatsApp widget
Elfsight supplies the floating WhatsApp interface. Elfsight’s published Privacy Policy states that its service may collect IP address, operating system and browser type for service operation and security and that these technical data are stored for seven days; it also identifies elfsight_viewed_recently as the cookie encountered by visitors to websites using Elfsight widgets.
The Elfsight interface is a route into WhatsApp. If you click through and use WhatsApp, you leave the CzechTrade.ge environment and WhatsApp/Meta processes the subsequent communication under its own terms and privacy rules.
External links
Other pages on CzechTrade.ge link to independent organisations, authorities and public sources. Merely displaying a normal external link does not load the destination website’s cookies. Data processing by the destination begins when you choose to visit or use that external service.
How to clear or block browser storage
You can remove the CzechTrade.ge preference and provider cookies through your browser’s site-data or privacy settings. Browser menus differ, but the relevant controls are normally called “Cookies and site data”, “Site settings”, “Privacy”, “Clear browsing data” or “Local storage”. Blocking all browser storage can affect the contact form or optional chat functionality.
If the site changes
If we later add analytics, advertising, A/B testing, additional embedded media or another technology that stores or accesses information on a visitor’s device, we will review the legal basis and update this inventory and the consent mechanism before enabling it where consent is required.
